Levitra

Levitra (vardenafil) is a medicine that helps men diagnosed with erectile dysfunction to get their normal sex life back. This medicine works by allowing more blood to enter the tissues of your penis and preventing the blood from escaping back into the body too soon. An erection that you will achieve will go away as usual once the sexual act is completed. However, you will need to get some sexual stimulation for Levitra to work properly. There are a number of contraindications for using this medicine, and you need to discuss them all with your doctor. Sudden vision loss is one of serious side effects that can actually be contributed by other side factors you may have. The following are possible risk factors for developing sudden vision loss as a result of reduced blood flow to the tissues of the penis: high blood pressure, heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes, pre-existing eye problems, smoking, and being older than 50. Other serious side effects of Levitra are also possible, although such cases are very rare. The following serious side effects are sometimes reported: blurred vision, fainting, rash, hoarseness, changes in color vision, ringing in ears, erection that lasts longer than 4 hours, dizziness, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, and hives. Report any of these serious side effects to your health care provider right away. Less serious side effects are also possible and may include any of the following: memory problems, stuffy nose, vision changes, back pain, headache, warmth or redness in your face, neck, or chest, and upset stomach. The mild side effects mentioned are not serious enough to be reported and you can carry on with your treatment if you get them. However, if they happen to change in intensity and bother you too much, it’s best to discuss them with your doctor. Levitra can interact with quite a few medications, such as aprepitant, amiodarone, antifungals, cimetidine, carbamazepine, alpha blockers, danazol, dexamethasone, fluoxetine, irregular heartbeat medications, clarithromycin, HIV protease inhibitors, phenobarbital, verapamil, troleandomycin, efavirenz, erythromycin, cyclosporine, paroxetine, medications for high blood pressure, disopyramide, quinidine, sertraline, other medications or treatments for erectile dysfunction, phenytoin, fluvoxamine, delavirdine, lovastatin, zafirlukast, isoniazid, and rifampin. This list is not complete and there may be other drugs that can cause interactions. It’s also important to let your doctor know if you have any of the following medical conditions that can negatively affect the success of your treatment: blood cell disorder, stomach ulcer, family history of Long QT syndrome, high or low blood pressure, bleeding disorder, physical deformity of the penis, retinitis pigmentosa, heart disease or heart rhythm problems, liver disease, kidney disease, recent history of stroke or blood clots, and recent history of a heart attack.
